Three Enigmatic Lights Over Oshawa: My Nighttime UFO Encounter

On a quiet evening in early June 2013, as I walked my dog near a park lined with mature trees and a gentle creek in southwestern Oshawa, Ontario, something unusual happened. Looking up to the southwest sky, high above the treetops—perhaps between 2,000 and 5,000 feet—I noticed a slow-moving, bright white light. It moved at less than half the speed of a small Cessna, tracing a gentle, jerking path that was almost hypnotic. I instinctively grabbed my camera to capture this strange spectacle. Within a minute, the light simply faded away, leaving me both amazed and puzzled.

But the night had more in store. Moments later, my gaze caught a second solitary white light traveling directly overhead from west to east, slowly and silently gliding across the sky above my home. Its sluggish pace made it impossible to classify as any conventional aircraft. I fumbled again for my camera, recording this mysterious traveler for nearly three minutes, awestruck by its eerie calm and haunting glow.

As I continued my walk through the park and across the road, a third light appeared from the south. This one was particularly mesmerizing—starting bright but gradually shifting in color from white to an ethereal aqua blue while growing faint and moving even slower. Its star-like glow drifted higher into the sky, maintaining that characteristic jerking motion. It veered northward, just slightly west of my position, and remained on my mind long after it vanished.

Witnessing not one but three separate slow, low, bright lights in a single evening was unprecedented for me. I have been observing similar phenomena intermittently since the summer of 2009, especially in early June when these odd lights seem to multiply between 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The experience sparked a deep curiosity about what might be out there, just beyond our sight.

The next day, I spoke with a friend from northern Whitby who shared a near-identical encounter with his wife. They had also captured chilling footage of these lights and posted it online for all to see.

With photographs and video evidence in hand, I continue to share this story not as a skeptic but as a witness to something undeniably remarkable—lights drifting above Oshawa, mysterious and mesmerizing, inviting wonder and perhaps something more.
