Silver Circles Over Lake Monona: A Madison UFO Mystery

On a calm day by Lake Monona’s breakwater pier in Madison, I found myself fishing when an otherworldly sight caught my eye. High above, five round silver objects shimmered against the sky. Three remained motionless, locked in a perfect triangular formation, while two others darted playfully above them.

Curious, I turned to a fellow fisherman to see if he could share the experience. To my surprise, he could not see the objects. However, another nearby observer, also wearing polarized fishing glasses like mine, confirmed their presence. Intrigued, I removed my glasses—and suddenly, the silver discs vanished from view.

I pointed this out, but when I quickly glanced back toward the sky, the mysterious objects had disappeared from their earlier spot. Careful searching led me to spot them once again, lingering in the western sky, still in that hypnotic triangular formation. Slowly, one by one, they faded from the horizon, leaving behind only questions and wonder.

This fleeting encounter with these shimmering circles over Madison remains vivid in my memory. What were those shimmering shapes against the sky, and why could they disappear with a simple shift in vision? Such moments fuel the enduring fascination with the unexplained, hinting at mysteries that may be closer than we imagine.
