Silent Circle of Light: 1977 Hamilton’s Unforgettable UFO Encounter

It was the early evening of a clear night in Hamilton, Ontario, back in 1977, just after dinner. I was no more than 9 or 10 years old, wandering through a quiet alley, when something caught my eye in the sky—what I saw then has haunted and fascinated me for decades. Looking up at the stars, I noticed a bizarre object, round and circled with lights, silently gliding above the large oak trees. Towering approximately 500 feet higher than the treetops, its size was immense—imagine something as vast as Niagara Falls, both in diameter and height.

The lights wrapped around this silent orb shimmered and shifted, holding me in a frozen spell. Unlike any airplane, blimp, hot air or weather balloon I’d ever heard of, this object made no noise at all. It paused directly above me for around two minutes, all I could hear was the trembling in my own body as awe and quiet fear settled in. Then, with effortless grace, it moved silently over the QEW towards the Burlington Skyway, eventually blending into the darkness.

That night, the disbelief I faced sharing this experience was disheartening. Yet, relief came the following day at school when a friend confirmed he saw the same mysterious light while nestled in his tree fort. The memory remains vivid, stirring my curiosity about what intelligence belongs to such a phenomenon.

I’ve often pondered returning under hypnosis to nail down the precise moment and maybe uncover other accounts. Surely, drivers on the highway that evening witnessed the same enigmatic spectacle. This experience, etched into my memory, continues to fuel my wonder about the cosmos and the secrets it holds just overhead.
