Mystery Fireball Over Los Angeles: Witnesses Describe a 30-Second Sky Spectacle

While feeding my dogs one calm evening in the El Sereno district of Los Angeles, I looked up to the southern sky and witnessed something unforgettable. At around 9:35 pm, a vivid fireball, glowing yellow-orange, appeared about 30 degrees above the horizon. The luminous trail behind it was striking, stretching across the sky as it traveled on a level path. The spectacle lasted for nearly 30 seconds, capturing my full attention.

As it continued its flight toward the southeast horizon, the fireball began to fall in altitude and broke apart into multiple fragments, eventually disappearing behind trees and rooftops. The entire event was like a scene from a movie, a mysterious dance of light and motion.

Though it seems most likely to have been a meteor blazing through Earth’s atmosphere, I felt compelled to share this incredible experience. Such moments remind us of the vast and mysterious universe just beyond our reach, igniting curiosity and wonder in all who witness them.
