On August 16, 1990, my family and I headed out just half an hour from Edmonton, Alberta, for our usual summer duck hunting trip. While my husband and kids were busy by a small lake, I found myself restless and decided to hike up a nearby hill. When I reached the summit, I called out to everyone and shouted, “Hey, come here! There’s something incredible to see.”
Before me lay three enormous circles arranged with a smaller circle perfectly encircling them — the precision was staggering, as if crafted by a compass or some advanced measuring device. Not a single stalk of wheat was broken or disturbed; it was as though some unfathomable force had created these flawless formations.
Curious, we sought out the farm owner responsible for the land. We asked him directly, “How do you make these circles inside the wheat field when the crop isn’t even cut yet?” To our surprise, he looked genuinely baffled. “We don’t know anything about them,” he said repeatedly, emphasizing he and his wife had no knowledge or machinery to produce such an effect.
We left after about half an hour, driving away down the hill. However, as we passed another hill on the opposite side of the farm, my eyes caught sight of yet another large circle. I begged my husband to stop so I could see it up close—so close I almost felt the wheat brush against me. But he insisted we keep moving.
