Around four in the morning, aboard a cruise ship leaving the shore, I looked out the window adjacent to my bed and saw a dazzling light unlike anything I’d witnessed before. It was a yellow-orange orb, roughly four times the size of the evening star, radiating what seemed like heat. This orb perfectly still, hovered over the water, casting a shimmering reflection that mimicked the moon’s glow on the sea.
