One evening at around 7:20 PM, after dinner, I stepped outside for a smoke and looked up at the stars. Amidst the peaceful night, my gaze was captured by an extraordinarily bright light that hovered silently in the sky above Surrey, British Columbia. I wasn’t sure what it was, but it was far too radiant for any ordinary star or planet I was familiar with.
For nearly half an hour, I watched it remain almost motionless, its glow undiminished. Suddenly, a quick, intense flash erupted just to the right of this shining presence. At that time, we were supposed to be seeing Venus, yet nothing like this brightness or sudden flash had ever appeared to me before.
Curious and eager to capture the phenomenon, I snapped pictures using a 4-megapixel camera at full zoom. The images revealed subtle differences from what my eyes had witnessed, making the experience all the more perplexing.
The light seemed to hold its position for a while, then slowly moved, paused again, and eventually disappeared from view, its motion reminiscent of the moon’s gentle glide across the sky.
This strange display left me wondering about the nature of what I saw. Was it a celestial body behaving oddly, or something altogether different—something unexplained drifting silently in the vast night sky?
My encounter with this enigmatic light deepens the mystery of our skies and invites anyone with insight or explanation to shed light on this unusual event.
