Driving through Levant, Maine, beneath the shroud of dusk on March 20th, 2021, I encountered something inexplicably surreal. Two amber spheres hovered silently over a farm, about 300 feet above the ground. Their glow was muted, encased in a faint aura that seemed to pulse gently. Not a sound nor movement disturbed their eerie abode in the evening sky.
I watched spellbound for five minutes, even pausing at a nearby store at a four-way intersection for a better look. Before my eyes, the pair slowly vanished as if swallowed by the night’s thickening veil.
My journey continued towards Bangor, yet another spectacle awaited. A lone orange sphere hung stationary above a field along the Bangor line. It mirrored the earlier orbs, silent and radiant, only to disappear moments later.
