While working a night shift as a security officer in a city parkade in Victoria, British Columbia, I witnessed something that still lingers vividly in my mind. The parkade’s top deck, about 45 feet above street level, looks out towards the South/Southwest skyline, offering a clear view over the city and beyond to Port Angeles, Washington.
At approximately 12:15 AM, a soft amber glow caught my eye roughly 18 degrees above the horizon. It was a perfectly shaped sphere, or orb, suspended silently against the dim, overcast sky. Almost immediately, a second sphere appeared just to the right and slightly lower, both stationary relative to each other and nearby buildings.
The light from these orbs was intense and haunting, casting an eerie aura or haze around each shape, despite the blanket of clouds overhead. Their presence was unmistakable yet fleeting; the whole event lasted barely 25 seconds before the spheres simply winked out of existence.
I hadn’t brought my phone on that patrol, so I couldn’t capture any images or videos, leaving only the memory of those glowing orbs etched in my mind’s eye. I often felt their presence linger in the air long after they’d vanished, an unsettling reminder of the unknown.
If you’re curious about the spot, it’s the top floor of the parkade on the 700 block of Johnson Street, a vantage point that offers a glimpse into a world just beyond ordinary sight. This encounter wasn’t just about unexplained lights—it was an intimate, chilling brush with something otherworldly, hovering silently over the calm cityscape of Victoria.
